Dirge serves as a Decepticon Seeker under the command of Megatron, typically operating alongside fellow jets like Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp. 

While not always portrayed as a frontline leader, Dirge holds a respected position within the aerial ranks due to his specialized combat abilities.

Dirge functions as a mid-to-high level Seeker within the Decepticon air force, less politically ambitious than Starscream, but more dependable in carrying out orders during coordinated assaults.

Defined by a grim, fatalistic and fear-inducing presence. Unlike the arrogance of Starscream or the mischief of Skywarp, Dirge embodies despair. 

He believes that defeat and destruction are inevitable, and he channels this outlook into psychological warfare, spreading fear among enemies and even unsettling allies. His gloomy demeanor makes him an unusual but effective Decepticon, as he weaponizes hopelessness itself.
